A series honoring the people who preserve our past through the objects and stories they protect.

Elumenate Media is proud to announce the launch of our newest original project, Guardians of Memory — a docuseries devoted to the people who quietly preserve our past through the objects, stories, and lives they protect.

For many, antiques are simply collectibles. But behind every object lies a journey — and behind every shop door stands a person who has dedicated their life to keeping memory alive. These individuals are more than dealers. They are guardians: protectors of history, stewards of family lineages, and keepers of the unseen threads that connect us to those who came before.

The First Episode: Noel’s Story

The series begins with Noel Brogan, a trusted presence in New Jersey’s antiques world for more than fifty years. Unlike public-facing dealers, Noel has long been the source that collectors, shop owners, auctioneers, and private clients turn to when searching for the right piece to place in the right hands.

Antiques are in her blood. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Noel has carried forward the family trade while running shops in Verona, Glen Ridge, and Montclair — and today continues her work with a storefront in Verona. Beyond the shop floor, she has curated some of the area’s most sought-after estate sales, carefully ensuring that cherished objects find their rightful homes.

But Noel’s guardianship has never been limited to objects alone. In the episode, she reflects on her deep love for antiques, the family heirlooms that fill her own home, and the resilience that has shaped her life — from raising five children to enduring the tragic loss of her son while he was in college. She shares candidly how she has always stood up for what is right, including the story of how she faced down drug dealers who once plagued the neighborhood around her shop. Her tenacity prevailed — they left, and the community was restored.

Why Guardians of Memory Matters

Through Noel’s story, and the many that will follow, Guardians of Memory reframes the antique world not as commerce, but as living stewardship. These are portraits of people who hold memory for us all, often without recognition. By listening to them, we not only discover the objects they care for, but the resilience, joy, and humanity that define their lives.
