This series documents what is happening inside the spiritual manipulation era — the New Age movements, coaching cults, channeling collectives, energy-healing empires, religious systems, and spiritualized authority structures that continue to reshape people’s inner architecture today.
These systems operate behind a veil of spiritual purpose, positivity, prophecy, healing, or divine truth. Beneath that surface is a machinery of abuse, coercion, emotional control, identity erosion, and spiritualized manipulation, built to fracture discernment and redirect trust away from a person’s own internal knowing. People do not “join communities” or “devote themselves to faith.” They are drawn into high-control environments engineered to break internal discernment and rewire behavioral and emotional dependence.
The stories collected here are testimonies — direct accounts from individuals who are surviving and exiting systems built on manipulation, distortion, coercive control, and false-light authority. Each person shares only what they choose to share, and each testimony reveals another piece of the wider pattern: spiritual consumerism, religion as a high-control system, and New Age ideology continuing to evolve into increasingly sophisticated forms of spiritual and identity-level abuse.
These stories also include the experiences of those who were never directly inside these groups but were deeply impacted by them — partners, spouses, children, friends, and family members whose lives were destabilized when someone they loved was pulled into a high-control spiritual or religious system. The harm of these groups radiates outward, affecting entire households and communities, not just the individuals targeted or indoctrinated.
These testimonies exist to reveal what is hidden, to expose the mechanisms these groups depend on, and to document the real toll these systems inflict — the fractured identities, damaged relationships, financial exploitation, behavioral control, and long-term harm created by spiritual, religious, and New Age structures that promise transformation, salvation, or ascension while delivering dependency, exploitation, and control.
This series will continue to grow as more survivors come forward. Together, these testimonies form a living record of an era that is still unfolding, still shaping lives, and still demanding to be understood for what it truly is.
